Paul Haughey

Dr. Haughey is new to the Board of Directors for Life-Skills, Inc., joining Life Skills, Inc. in 2015 for a three year term. Currently, he also serves on the Board of Selectmen in the Town of Blackstone, MA, and has been an active member of the Blackstone Finance Committee in years gone by, putting to work his expertise in action research, strategic planning, and finance. Most recently, Dr. Haughey has represented the Blackstone Board of Selectmen on the Central Massachusetts Planning Commission in an effort to work collaboratively with local, state, and federal officials, as well as legislators, to enhance the life and work of people living in the region.

Dr. Haughey has worked in the field of education since 1990 and has over 26 years of experience teaching at all levels of education (Preschool through Graduate School). At present, he teaches and oversees practicum supervision experiences in special education (grades K-8 & 5-12) as a Visiting Professor with Framingham State University’s Division of Graduate and Continuing Education. As well, he has provided leadership in private and public school settings over this time serving as an Assistant Principal, Director of Student Services, and currently serves as the Principal of Millville Elementary School in Millville, MA within the Blackstone-Millville Regional School District.
Dr. Haughey earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1990 from Framingham State University; a Master of Education degree in Educational Administration from the University of Massachusetts-Lowell (1995); a Master of Education degree in Special Education from Framingham State University (2000); and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from Johnson & Wales University (2002).

Dr Haughey joined the Board of Directors with Life-Skills, Inc. as a result of his personal and professional experiences over the past 26 years and advocates for people with disabilities passionately at the local, state, and federal levels of government. By joining the Board of Directors, it is his sincere hope to continue the fine work of Life-Skills, Inc. in the designing, developing, and implementing of programs that meet the needs of adults within the communities served – with the end goal of providing a wide variety of quality services to individuals with developmental, physical, and emotional disabilities throughout Massachusetts.
