Starting on October 6, 2016 Webster Five launched a customer-centric philanthropic promotion called “Share the Care” as part of their ongoing commitment to supporting the needs of nonprofits within the community. Through this promotion, Webster Five invited customers and members of the community to nominate and vote for three local nonprofits for a chance to receive part of the $5,000 Web of Caring donation. The nonprofit with the most votes receives $2,500, second place receives $1,500, and third place receives $1,000.

The $5,000 donation is a special addition to their Web of Caring to Make a Difference program, which regularly provides grants to local community organizations through the Webster Five Foundation. Webster Five’s Web of Caring to Make a Difference program reinforces the bank’s long-standing initiative to give back to the community by supporting local organizations that are making a difference. The way the bank sees it, investing in their community pays dividends for everyone.

The “Share the Care” promotion was broken into two rounds – a nomination and voting period. Customers and community members had the opportunity to nominate a local nonprofit through Facebook, or in any of the seven Webster Five branches. There were 116 organization names submitted during the nomination period. The top five nonprofits with the most nominations were opened up for voting on November 1st to decide the three winners. The Bank was pleased with the participation, were 567 people who casted their votes to determine the three winners.

Congratulations to the following winners:

1st Place Winner – Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central MA/MetroWest who provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.

This promotion is an exciting new way to guide our ongoing philanthropic activities and extend our impact in meaningful ways.”
